What We’re Up To – Build 131 – Contemporary and Private Space

Here we share some photos of what we’ve been up to lately, including planting out new beds, gardening, landscaping, and constructing gardens from our garden designs. What we’re up to – Build 131 in Westdene involved a fairly simple design, and transforming a orange-walled bland garden into a more subtle, contemporary and private space.

What We’re Up To – Build 131 – Contemporary and Private Space

The garden has been designed to be a contemporary outside room, with emphasis on architectural planting with all year interest & colour, allowing maximum sunlight into the lower patio & kitchen areas. The lower patio will be painted in a light grey colour & enhanced with a mirror to reflect light into the space.

Low level seating will be positioned to the upper right of the patio facing the beds & leaving the ‘sun zone’ free for channelling as much light as possible.

The planting will be comprised of evergreens, deciduous & perennial species, with an emphasis on low maintenance & highlighted by seasonal colour. Several architectural plants will be introduced to highlight the beds, providing a myriad of form & texture.
