Japanese Garden Makeover

Before…
Japanese Garden
After…

Rational: A Dry landscape Japanese inspired Study Garden, with complimentary planting scheme.

A river of cobbles brings fluidity & movement with soft undulating moss and swaying grasses, layers of planting represent an ascending hillside, while rock formations & positions symbolise the natural elements of: Water; Earth; Fire; Wood & Metal.

Consideration of the position of every tree, rock or shrub is essential in creating the landscape, together with each objects’ relationship to each other & too space. The ‘empty space’ created within the garden, between each plant etc, is another precious element & is key to Japanese philosophy, style & culture.

As a result, the design has been created to be flexible & open to change in order to achieve this harmony.
